Cruisin down the street in my …

Monday, March 31st, 2008

After a successful ride on Saturday through Oneil/Tijeras a few more of us headed out tonight for more fun. 2 hours is a perfect amount of time for this ride as we made it back to the parking lot just before dark. The ride was great as usual and snapped a few pics and one funny ass video of Jason coming through the water. Be sure to listen to the video as well lol. Towards the middle of the ride one of the lenses popped out of his glasses which instantly turned him into Pirate Jason! Comedy…

What a gorgeous day for a ride…

Spinning through Tijeras Creek

Saturday, March 29th, 2008

Mike and I headed out on the bikes today for Oneil Park / Tijeras Creek. This is Mike’s 2nd mountain bike ride on his new Giant Trance X2 (which he is loving btw). We rode the Fullerton Loop trail on Thursday and he was able to make it all the way through it without too many breaks. The Loop is fun but today is what I consider mountain biking to be all about. Singletrack, water crossings, rocky sections, canopy jungle sections and more. This is my favorite ride in OC by far. Just snapped a few pics but here they are.

And the reason why I love to ride my bike. Nothing like coming through beautiful singletrack

Apple losers

Tuesday, March 25th, 2008

If you are an Apple loser like me that means you own at least 3 Apple related products. I happen to own more than that! One thing I have grown to hate is trying to remember to charge my Ipod, Ipod Nano and Iphone consistently. I use them all throughout the week for various activities and often find them with no juice. What can I do to resolve this dilemma? Well, it looks like the geniuses over at Griffin have answer my prayers. Checkout the new Griffin Powerdock. Its $69 and will charge up to 4 Ipod type devices. Perfect! This is going to be a must have for my new home.

While I am talking about Apple stuff, why in the hell doesn’t Apple deliver the Iphone with a horizontal stand? I mean they give you one with the Touch so why leave us Iphone users out? WTF JOBS? Also, why do case companies keep making vertical stands, we need horizontal stands so we can watch movies! Nothing more frustrating than having to hold your Iphone during an entire flight, blah. If you know of a good horizontal Iphone stand please let me know!

Seriously he is THE MAN

Monday, March 24th, 2008

I have been a Jackie Chan fan for as long as I can remember watching movies. Out of the 300 or so DVD’s I own I believe at least 10 are his movies. An old friend and I used to scour Japanese movie and sci fi stores for imported copies of his movies long before they hit the states. I remember buying a VHS copy of Police Story 3 long before most people in the US knew it to become Supercop. Checkout this video of one man’s top 10 list of Jackie Chan stunts. How is this man alive?

Southpark fans rejoice

Monday, March 24th, 2008

Are you a Southpark fan? Looking for a lost episode? Well, look no further. The boys have just added every single episode ever made from the very first to the most recent to their website. Uncensored as well! Click the pic and go have some fun. southparkfull.jpg

I want some

Monday, March 24th, 2008

Okay, so I need ALOT of practice before even attempting to take on this gnarly set of switchbacks. Checkout this video from SRAM Europe of a pair of riders taking on one serious downhill section. I think my ass would pucker from all the exposure (riding along the edge of a mountain).

Mikey likes it!

Sunday, March 23rd, 2008

My good friend Mike is looking for a new bike. I have been doing some thorough shopping for him and have pretty much nailed it down to a couple options. Here is what I think he should be considering.

Ironhorse MKIII Trail

Specialized Pitch

Giant Trance X2

All three bikes are in the same price range (within $500) and have around the same level of components. I already got him behind the bars on the Ironhorse and the Pitch and he enjoyed both favoring the Pitch (that Pike is niiiiice). This week we plan on getting him on the Trance and I honestly think this is the bike that he is going to take home. Mike is a graphics guy so looks mean a lot to him and the first thing he mentioned to me about wanting to get back into riding was he wanted an all black bike. Well, the Trance X2 comes in just that. It also has Fox shocks front and rear, a good comp package and Hayes hydraulic brakes. For the price of $1700 retail its one of the best bikes in it’s price range (if you ask me).

Anything else you think he should consider?

If he doesn’t buy this bike this week or another bike I am forcing him to ride the bike he test road at Target below on the trail.
