Iphone 3.0
Tuesday, March 17th, 2009Proof that Incase is still the coolest
Tuesday, November 18th, 2008There are few things about the Iphone that I don’t care for. No MMS, no copy & paste and poor battery life. Take into consideration the amount of graphics you use daily on your Iphone and really battery life isn’t all that bad. Doesn’t mean we all still don’t want more juice! I have been rockin’ an Incase Slider Case on my 3G Iphone since the day it came home with me. Perfect fit, looks great and protects the phone all-around. Now, Incase is just about ready to release their latest Iphone case, the Power Slider. There are a few other charging cases on the market but nothing this slick. This case is perfect for frequent travelers such as myself who use their Iphone a ton killing time in airports and ignoring screaming children on airplanes. Incase tells us it will double the battery power of your phone, wow. The bottom of it slides off so you can dock the phone, has an integrated rechargeable lithium-ion battery and comes in smooth flat black. Hello Christmas present to me (if anyone is listening)!
Iphone updates
Friday, September 12th, 2008Before heading to the office this morning I updated my Iphone with the new 2.1 software. According to iTunes it is suppose to significantly help signal strength issues, slowness, bugs, genius bar, text message alert errors, battery life and more. Have I noticed all of these improvements? Some, yes.
- Contacts are opening much faster
- Text messages are opening faster and sending faster
- Haven’t noticed any signal strength changes but haven’t been on the phone much
- Battery life seems to be about the same, I will report more as the day passes
- I noticed a new E icon for the Edge Network. No more E with a square around it just a capital E
- The new iTunes Genius Bar was also added to the Ipod section. It tells you right from the phone suggested music based on the song you are listening too. I really like this feature because I am one of those people that listens to the same music all the time
So far that makes 2.1 a success in my book.
On another somewhat Iphone related note, I was in Barstow for a photo shoot the other day and when I pulled into the hotel I noticed a wealth of white GM SUV’s. When I checked in I asked the clerk if the FBI was in town or if there was a GM event. She gave me a look like she didn’t speak english so I took that as she did not know. On the way to my room I was reading some emails on my phone and this poped up. Question answered.
Around the net
Monday, September 1st, 2008Tonight is another night of around the net here on LM. Checkout some cool stuff I ran into lately while spending much too much time on the net.
We have all seen some clever marketing strategies but what about this one from the Bit Copa Beer?
Who said the Iphone cannot do 3D graphics well? You just need the right programmers.
iHologram – iPhone application from David OReilly on Vimeo
How much ass is the new Max Payne movie starring Mark Wahlberg going to kick? The new posters are amazing and also make pretty good Iphone wallpaper.
Want to make your Apple Iphone cooler than your friends? Bust it apart and swap out that tacky old news mirror apple on the back for a nice shiny glowing one.
You all know how I feel about watches and if you don’t, I love them. This one is designed by John Pszeniczny and is named the F1/Carbon GMT which was inspired by Formula 1 racing. It is made of carbon fiber, Swarovski crystal, rubber and metal. For additional bling, the timepiece has 18 rubies that tells the time for each of the 18 cities on the 2008 F1 circuit. Yes, I want one.
Remember when you used to fake being sick and tell Mom that you needed to stay home from school so you can watch TV? I mean, because you were sick. For some reason 9 out of 10 times I would ditch school I would find Red Sonja on TBS. I swear throughout elementary school it must have been on TBS 4682 times. I think I caught 4392 of those. Looks like they are giving Rose McGowan a shot at replacing Brigitte Nielsen did back in 1985. (shit I really just dated myself didn’t I)
Oh, I really hope this goes down. It looks like XM and SIRIUS Satellite radio networks are going to be coming to the Iphone! SCORE. Well, score for Sirius at least since XM blows donkey. To make this sound more appealing it looks like the programs will be coming to jailbroken (unlocked) Iphones like mine. For more information click here.

My turn
Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008iPhone Posting
Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008Well I just downloaded this amazing new application on my iPhone through the new app store and I thought I would give this a try and see how well it works!
Hope you don’t mind Jordan, but you have asked me to blog before…so here I am!
Oh yeah one last thing Jordan, photo support is included direct from your iPhone…

Friday Funday
Tuesday, July 8th, 2008So, this friday the new Iphone 3g comes out. Not sure if I am going to be picking one up right away though. I want to play with one first and see if I like the new plastic shell and see just how much faster 3g is. The new 2.0 software should be coming out the same day for FREE download on Itunes so I have a feeling my old school Iphone is going to be just as nice as the new one aside from 3g and Nav. I dont think I will really use the Nav but 3g would be nice so we’ll see. My bud Chris helped me unlock my Iphone a while ago and has been working great since. A few of the unlocked apps I have been using on the phone have really turned the phone into what I think the Iphone should be.
Video Recorder – a simple video program that works great. Record your video and either email it to your friends or directly upload it to your You Tube account. Awesome. Why didnt Apple give u this?
Volume Boost – finally I can hear my Iphone ring in my pocket. The speakers arent the loudest on the phone but this little app really helped out alot. Once again, Apple are you listening?
Games – I have Tetris and Solitaire on the phone and they both rock. Great time killers when traveling.
Streetflow – great app that uses the Iphones locate me feature (finds where you are located when you start the program ie: city, sate). It displays all of the current restaurants around your area with reviews. This is great for people like me that travel a bunch and are looking for something to eat in unfamiliar areas.
Capture – cool screen capture program. Right now there is no way to save attachments to your Iphone which sucks. Capture lets you take a screen capture of anything and save it to your camera roll. This is great if someone sends you a picture you want to keep!
Agile Mobile – really good AIM, MSN, YAHOO, ICQ and more messenger that works both with and without WIFI signal.
Hopefully, all of these and more will be available for ALL in the new apps store which launches with 2.0. An unlocked version of 2.0 is already scheduled to be released almost instantly after 2.0 comes out. How these people get their hands on the software early is beyond me, but hey I like it.
Some spy shots of the new 3g Iphone have already been leaked ofcourse. Like this one.

Apple losers
Tuesday, March 25th, 2008If you are an Apple loser like me that means you own at least 3 Apple related products. I happen to own more than that! One thing I have grown to hate is trying to remember to charge my Ipod, Ipod Nano and Iphone consistently. I use them all throughout the week for various activities and often find them with no juice. What can I do to resolve this dilemma? Well, it looks like the geniuses over at Griffin have answer my prayers. Checkout the new Griffin Powerdock. Its $69 and will charge up to 4 Ipod type devices. Perfect! This is going to be a must have for my new home.
While I am talking about Apple stuff, why in the hell doesn’t Apple deliver the Iphone with a horizontal stand? I mean they give you one with the Touch so why leave us Iphone users out? WTF JOBS? Also, why do case companies keep making vertical stands, we need horizontal stands so we can watch movies! Nothing more frustrating than having to hold your Iphone during an entire flight, blah. If you know of a good horizontal Iphone stand please let me know!
