I don’t even know where to begin. The past three days flew by like lighting; fast, powerful and full of energy. Right now its Sunday night at 11:21pm and I finally made it home from a kickass weekend. I have pictures (32 and 1 video) from most of it to tell the tale and yes, I will explain the blog post title, haha.

DAY ONE

Friday morning, 7am, Ryan and I loaded up and headed to Wrightwood for some off-road fun in the Polaris RZR-S. His neighbor Mark planned on showing us around the area near his cabin. We had originally planned to hit Big Bear but when Mark said he knew of some good trails that was all the push we needed to alter our destination.

A little insight to what is going on in my head tonight…

What would I do if someone gave me a million dollars?

- Pay off any debt I have including the rest of my home loan
- Make sure everyone in my family is doing okay financially
- Donate a portion to a few charities of my choice
- Look into some retirement/investment options
- Buy a few really nice bikes that I want
- Do some home improvement items I would love to have

What did I eat today?

- Bowl of oatmeal with raisins and brown sugar with OJ for breakfast
- Cup of Pike’s Place Roast coffee from Starbucks
- Water
- Ham sandwich on what bread and watermelon for lunch
- Water
- 2 chicken breasts and 2 cups of rice for dinner
- Big glass of FF milk
- Protein shake
- thinking about having an ice cream cone! (update: had the ice cream cone)

What am I grateful for today?

- My family and my friends, I love you all
- My mountain bike, for helping me stay in shape
- My job, I love what I do and not everyone can say that even though I bitch about it often
- Friends with new cell phones
- Smoking hot ladies that ride bikes (sonya) (liz)

What is on my agenda for tomorrow?

- Have to go to the office tomorrow early and do some InCopy training course (bleh)
- Work on some feature articles for Jan 09 issue
- Looking like I will load up the bike and ride the Fully Loop after work
- May swing by The Path and get some Ergon grips installed
- Try and hit the gym tomorrow night
- Hit the spa around 10pm if the community has fixed it, damnit

Okay, now with some speed

Being a photographer it’s not often I see photos of me, especially photos of me working. Kelli was nice enough to snap some pics of me while directing a recent photo shoot in Primm, Nevada. I thought I would share them with all of you. This shoot was for Offroad Magazine featuring the trucks of G&R Racing. Stay tuned for the December 08 issue when they are featured. Also, I have a pretty long post coming later today when I make it back home from the Bacara from the road trip. Check back.

Enough already

I have a feeling tonight is going to be filled with some pretty random thoughts. Today was the first day back at work as it was for many. For me though, I was on vacation the past few weeks and boy did it feel great. I was greeted back at work to a welcome surprise, my office actually followed through on getting me a new laptop. Not only did they but the one I wanted! (which will be shared soon) So that really started my day off with a bang. Most of the day was filled with getting caught up on voice mails and emails I had missed during my absence. It’s incredible how many people contact you when you try to stay out of touch (287 emails and 18 voice mails).

On my way home from work I realized that I tend to carry around a lot of stuff most of the time. Too much if you ask me. I snapped a quick shot of what I usually look for before heading out the front door.

That would be my wallet (with a whopping $4 inside), brown leather notebook (great for jotting down ideas), Blackberry (I call it my dingleberry its for work), Iphone, watch (this is a new one I will mention soon) and keys. Too much! I have started making a point to not carry the Blackberry (shhh) around unless I am doing something work/magazine related. The rest of the stuff I have on me pretty much all the time (please don’t mug me for my $4 thank you).

Hope everyone is having a good day today. I’m gonna go empty my pockets now.

You can also find me…

Like most people these days I have a myspace page. Aside from the massive amount of weirdos on the site it has proven to be a great tool for keeping in touch with friends and getting photography work. I have actually booked over 50 shoots through myspace alone. Everyone in the damn world is on it so why not use it as a marketing tool, right? If you want to checkout my myspace page just click on the above left image.

The above right image will take you to my model mayhem profile. Model Mayhem has also proven to be a great site for networking with models, make up artists and stylists. The site works pretty well and doesn’t have the drama you find on myspace because they regulate the page for just people in the industry. One huge problem with the site though is the amount of GWC’s (guys with cameras) running around. A GWC is basically a guy posing as a professional photographer just wanting to get pretty girls in front of his camera. These people are the plague of the photography world. We all started somewhere and there is nothing wrong with saying you’re an amateur so don’t try and pose as being more than you are. I encourage all models that shoot with me to be careful when deciding who they are going to shoot with. Judge the person based on their work, references from people they have worked with and finally from speaking to them. Go ahead and click on the above right image to check out my page.

I have a few other random profiles out there but I rarely access them. Lately, I have been considering getting a facebook page going. It seems to be the new myspace and since I am in the business of self promotion, the more sites I am on usually means more customers. Also, facebook has been working directly with Apple to make accessing your page via an iphone really easy. So, we shall see what happens with that. I think for now I have enough to concentrate on with this new blog developing.
