Skinsuit Video
Chris, Gene, Craig and Gregg decided to take the journey up Blackstar and descend Skinsuit. SS is a singletrack downhill trail that descends down the back side of the Main Divide into Corona. In order to get to it you need to climb BS and keep going past the golf ball a couple miles until you read the trail head on the left. I’ll see if I can get some more input from the guys as to the exact location. Checkout the video below that was mounted to Gene’s helmet for the descent. Pretty steep in sections and very loose. I would say this is definitely an upper intermediate to advanced level trail. You don’t need a big travel bike but you do need sharp skills.
it’s just over 10 miles to the start of the trail head. Just after the second big climb on the main divide past the golf ball.
The trail descends about 2 miles to the bottom of Corona. Put that into perspective, 10 miles up…2 miles down. Very steep in sections and extremely loose, this is back country and you are control skidding most of the sections.
